In our previous post, we began exploring a significant transformation at a beautiful home in Blouberg. We talked about how the right flooring can unify a multi-level space, but today we want to take you downstairs – to the level where “style” meets “lifestyle” in the most unique way possible.

The Wine Bar & The Motorbike

The Art of the Eclectic_ Why Your Floor Should Be Your Quietest Statement (2)

One of the standout features of this Blouberg project was the lower level. It’s not every day we’re asked to install flooring in a space that houses a curated wine wall alongside a sleek, parked motorbike. It’s the ultimate definition of eclectic decor, and it’s a perfect example of why choosing the right foundation matters.

When people think of laminate, they often think of “look,” but in a home like this, it’s all about durability. You need a surface that is:

  • Resilient: Tough enough to stand beneath a motorbike and handle the foot traffic of a social wine bar without losing its luster.
  • Light & Subtle: In a room with bold mechanical lines and rich wine displays, the floor shouldn’t compete for attention. It should be the “sophisticated calm” that makes everything else pop.
  • Easy to Maintain: Because life (and wine) happens, and your floor should be the last thing you worry about.

Precision in the Details

This level also featured a stunning architectural glass floor inlay. At HiDe Flooring, we talk a lot about “attention to detail,” but this is where it really shows. Every cut around that glass had to be perfect. As owners, David and Darren are directly involved on-site during the installation process because we know those small details are what make a home feel premium.

The “HiDe” Philosophy

We always say that we want to deliver the end product we would want if we were “wearing your shoes.” Whether those shoes are standing next to a baby grand piano upstairs or parked next to a motorbike downstairs, the floor needs to feel right.

Our goal for this Blouberg home wasn’t just to sell a product; it was to provide the honest advice and professional installation required to turn a house into a personal gallery of the owner’s passions.

The HiDe Difference: “Nothing beats the feeling of signing a job off at the end of the day, shaking hands, and seeing how happy a transformation makes people.” – David & Darren
