At HiDe Flooring, every project is an opportunity to see a vision come to life. Some installations, however, stand out for how perfectly the product meets the architecture. Our recent transformation for a client in Constantia, Cape Town, was exactly that – a seamless blend of modern durability and classic aesthetic.
The Perfect Foundation: Nova Luxury Vinyl
When it came to selecting the right flooring for this beautiful Constantia home, the choice was clear: Nova Luxury Vinyl in the stunning Summer Oak decor. Constantia homes often demand a balance between sophisticated style and the practicalities of a busy household. The Nova range is a “dream to install,” providing a high-end look without the high-maintenance requirements of traditional timber.
The Summer Oak finish offers a light, natural grain and warm tones that immediately opened up the space. By running the planks throughout the home, we created a continuous, “seamless flow” that unifies the various rooms – from the living areas to the more private spaces. However, to add a touch of architectural interest, we installed the entrance hallway in a striking herringbone pattern. This created a beautiful variation and a sense of “grand arrival” before transitioning into the straight-plank layout used in the rest of the house. This blend of patterns, while maintaining the same Summer Oak tone, is a hallmark of a well-designed interior, providing a “sophisticated calm” that serves as the perfect backdrop for any decor style.

Our Constantia client was exceptionally happy with the result, noting how the Summer Oak and the custom herringbone entry transformed the atmosphere of the house into a bright, welcoming sanctuary.
